Uttendorf is a municipality with 3026 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in the Salzburger Land in the district of Zell am See in Austria. In terms of area, it is the third largest municipality in the district, with about 43 km³ of the area in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Giant mountain crystals from the Stubach Valley:
Two mountain climbers from Pinzgau went on a climbing tour into the Eiskögele north face and found a mighty rock crystal on a rock band at an altitude of around 3,000m.
The rock crystals are the largest collection found in the Alps so far, with a total weight of approx.1,622 kg. They can be viewed in the House of Nature in Salzburg.
Butterfly trail Uttendorf:
The educational trail leads from the center of the town to around 300 vertical meters on the Sonnberg towards Liebenberg. The butterfly trail is an eventful hike for big and small nature lovers.
